I definitely understand about your sentiment about wanting to portray a multicultural community, I did get that aspect of it - I can see what you mean Tzadik's series influencing people, I did find the idea of Jewish Identity, seen from various sides, to be one of the most pivotal points of the album, but to me, the major draw of the album is just how fleshed-out and three dimensional all the characters feel, you really are a great storyteller. As Jarrod said, thanks so much for taking your time to read one of our reviews!Hanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13573301402028359152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-504922255102274985.post-67093781898355883682013-04-29T23:43:37.141-04:002013-04-29T23:43:37.141-04:00I can't believe you found this tiny blog, I lo...I can't believe you found this tiny blog, I love your music, thanks for taking the time to read one of our reviews on it. :)Triforceguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05275622730760489938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-504922255102274985.post-11247194770458520702013-04-14T12:36:06.693-04:002013-04-14T12:36:06.693-04:00Thats sweet thank you so much for writing it.
So g...Thats sweet thank you so much for writing it.
So glad you enjoyed it .
Hope you don't mind but I feel the need to point out that i was trying to convey, evoke, something about a multicultural neighborhood most of whom were not Jewish, like the Russian Orthodox, Dostoevsky reading Finchenko family who I sing /speak about, and Marsha Calabro whose family was Italian American- she converted to Judaism in her 20's and Frank Torreto from the Crescent St. gang who was a church goer at the Church I used to sneak into, wishing i could go to confession. Originally I didn't want the cd to be on the Radical Jewish series because i thought it would put the focus be more on Jewishness than about a multicultural neighborhood in change.
When I was 11 owe were one of 2 Jewish families on a mostly rascist Italian Irish Street-just blocks away from the projects....
But I am nonetheless very appreciative of what you wrote and your writing!!
And wow--nice to have Hubert Selbys great book in the same article.
With kind regards
Shelley Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08565645143670651891noreply@blogger.com
